摘要： Method and apparatus for orienting an amorphous plastic. Passing the materialthrough a hole having a width smaller than the thickness of the plastic. During thismovement, the material is oriented during the formation of a transition zone (18)
between an even unoriented material (thicker) (16b) and oriented material (thinner) (16a).The material is moved at a speed which causes the crystallisation energy released by theorientation reaches the outer surfaces (14, 17) of the plastics material at a time when thematerial is already in the state of reduced thickness. The apparatus includes a drawingring (50) and a mandrel (60) between which a hole is formed. When the plastic materialenters the hole, the hole has a width which substantially corresponds to the thickness ofthe amorphous material. The width of the hole is reduced in the direction of movementof the plastic material so as to be smaller than the thickness of the amorphous material,but greater than the thickness of the oriented material.
