摘要：An apparatus and method for making harnesses containing press- insertedcontacts is disclosed in which connectors of the concerned type can be automaticallyconnected to one or more other connectors by wires of the same or of varying lengthsand wherein connectors of diverse forms and various layouts can be utilized. A pluralityof tables adapted to carry wire-receiving connectors are arranged to be selectivelyrelatively movable with respect to each other, including movement in a transversedirection. Wire is supplied to the connectors by selectively operable wire meteringrollers and press-insertion blades associated with the respective tables operate to press-insert the supplied wires for electrical contact with the respective connectors. Thepresent invention contemplates utilization of a wire stripping machine and/or a continuitytest jig in the disclose operation and apparatus.
