Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, it is my great honor to be invited here today to talk to all of you about true friendship. I believe that all the audience have many friends. However, do you know what is true friendship? Different people have different ideas about that. In my talk to you today, I will focus on two key ideas. Those are the meaning of true friendship and how to get true friendship. Don’t worry, it is not very hard. I am going to spend about five minutes of your value time and then I would like to answer your questions about them. I will be glad if you ask me and provide your problem actively. Now I‘d like to start today’s speech by sharing a story about friendship with you.

There were two friends went to a forest to earn a living. One day, they saw a wild bear almost coming close to them. One of them climbed up a nearby tree, while the other could not. He lied under the tree and held his breath as he knew that bears would not touch dead body. The bear closed to him and whispered in his ear and then left. The man on the tree asked him what the bear said. He answered, “the bear told me not to trust such selfish friends like you.”

True friends will never leave you alone when you in need. They won’t forget you even if you haven’t collected with them for a long time. They won’t alienate you even if you have disagreements with them. They don’t care the status and money. Friends in true friendship will accompany without disturbing, encourage each other and make progress together.

Nonetheless, how to get real friendship?

First of all, the most important thing in friendship is respect. You should not envy or look down on them. Friends are equal. Second, you have to be honest. If a friend tells you a secret and ask you to keep it, you shouldn’t tell other people.Thirdly, a friend in need is a friend indeed. You should give them a hand when they need help. Last but not least, you should point out their weakness and bad habits. True friends should share good things with each other. So don’t be mean and selfish. In addition, you should not help friends do something wrong. You should never do anything illegal because of friendship.

Okay, well I think it’s time to make a conclusion. Then I’d like to invite your questions and your opinions on my words. All in all, true friendship is honest, unselfish and equal. You could be too menial even though you give great attention to your friends. If you make bad friends uncarefully, please leave them as soon as possible.
