一、教材分析

本课时系教材本课时系教材《英语基础教程》(2)第五单元的第四课时,包括Vocabulary practice和Supplementary reading,具体内容为:复习巩固本单元所学单词和短语;完成拓展阅读。
2.教学重点、难点

复习巩固本单元所学单词和短语。 ⑵教学难点
引导学生学会自我总结的方法。
二、教学目标
1. 知识目标
⑴复习巩固本单元所学单词和短语。 ⑵完成拓展阅读。 2. 能力目标
(1) 引导学生学会自我归纳总结的方法。 (2) 熟练拼写重点词汇。
3. 情感目标
潜移默化的渗透健康生活方式在学生人生中的重要性,扩大学生的知识面。
三、教学步骤
Step One Revision
1.Review words and expressions. Teacher lead the students to make a sentence or phrase with the word.
e.g.: advice --- Thanks for your advice. artist--- He is a famous artist.
2.Have the students divide the words into three groups.
Group 1--- nouns(advice, artist, badminton, couch, handbook, mouse, couch potato...) Group 2--- verbs(describe, prefer, get rid of, make up)
Group 3--- adj /adv(common, official, online, unusual, be bad for)
(设计意图:通过组词造句,学复习词语的用法,提高学生使用词汇的能力;通过词语分类,帮助学生理清思路;通过造句游戏,激发学生的语言输出能力。)
Step Two Vocabulary practice
1.Words Game. Have the students try to make more sentences or phrases as much as possible.
2.Complete Activity 15, Activity 16 and Activity 17,then check the answer.
(设计意图:通过练习,复习词语的用法,提高学生使用词汇的能力,巩固本单元知识。)
Step Three Supplementary reading
Pre-reading: Can you introduce other kind of sports? While-reading:
1. T: Now we will read a passage about sports, read the passage quickly and answer the questions.
How many kinds of sports are introduced in the passage?

2. Skimming: skim the paragraph and judge the sentences.
Jogging is a very popular way of keeping fit in USA only. Jogging has space and time limitations.
Bungee jumping is the second most thrilling game in the world. Bungee jumping is a very dangerous but attractive sport.
3. Scanning: scan the paragraph and answer the questions. (1)Which is faster, jogging or walking?
